Looking forward

Tomorrow is my first exam in college: photography and art trends/styles. I think I know everything, so just hold your fingers crossed! In this time of the year, I study really hard but I always have things to look forward to for after this shitty, not fashionable at all period...

1. My 19th birthday: 13/02/2011

Fingers crossed for this event again. Last year it wasn't that pleasant: my stomach hurt at the party (had to leave early), their was nothing to do on the day itself and I had a car crash the day after. But that's not the end of the world! I have my whole life ahead of me and this year I just won't eat a lot of spaghetti before the party and I'll do fun stuff! That's for sure!

2. Make business cards
I've been planning to do this a long time. Everytime I go to an event, people ask me if I have one. Well, the answer will be 'yes, here you go!' soon! I've made a few designs with the bf already and I know how I want it to be: simple but pretty. Below is one of my favorite business cards, I really love the idea!

3. Read books I bought
I'm not really a book type of girl, except if they are related to anything fashion. I've bought several books in the Philippines which I've been planning to read for a while now... I guess I'll have to start doing so!

4. DIY-projects
As you can see above, I'm very interested in DIY fashion. I always wanted to do some of my own and I would so love to learn how to sew with a sewing machine. A few days ago, I discovered a blogger which makes a lot of DIY stuff... I was so obsessed by her imitation of the Burberry zipper jacket, that I'm going to try it myself!

5. Have fun!
Going out for a drink with my friends or really party hard at a club. I've missed it so much! It has been a while, even before all the studying! Not only am I planning to have fun by being with friends, drinking and laughing, but also by meeting bloggers, going to events! Everything that involves my blog is just so much fun!

Nicolas Ghesquière

It might be spring/summer in fashion world, I can't help to look back at the fall/winter 2010 shoe collection from Balenciaga designed by Nicolas Ghesquière. The shoes are so odd but so pretty... He used a lot of geometry in creating them and to be honest, I don't mind. I saw one of the designs in a magazine and I thought it was so original, so I had to write something about it and share the pictures with you guys. Not only do I love the architectural heel and platform, I also love how they still keep something classic in feminine in the designs. I'd personally go for the one with the laces or with the two straps.

Alt follows Roitfeld

I don't really read French Vogue but I thought I share the news with you guys. Emmanuelle Alt is replacing Carine Roitfeld as the Vogue Paris editor in chief, after having had the position of fashion editor for 10 years. Roitfeld had held the position from January 2001 until now. Alt wil be replacing her as of the first February.

I love her style but to be honest, I don't really know that much about her. Neither did I of Carine Roitfeld. I just know they're two beautiful women with a very great sense of style. And I'd so want their closet, of course! Emmanuelle seems like a very serious person but at least the devil wears Balmain!

New Year's Resolutions

Only in English

Everyone has them... resolutions for the new year. Some of you may have completed the list, others didn't really pay any more attention after having made them. I'll try my best to complete everything of this list but for some of them, I might need your help!

1. Get more chances to write about certain stuff = Get invites for certain events so that I can show how I write about certain things.
2. Get more than 100 followers on Facebook, Bloglovin' (right sidebar) and via Google Friend Connect (left sidebar)
3. Get more comments on each post.
4. Try to take more daily outfit posts (even though I'm dressed horribly sometimes).
5. Go to the gym more often (or at least go jogging 2 times a week!)
6. Find a weekend job that pays a lot so that I can save and buy more expensive items.
7. Write all my ideas down and make a blog post about it.
8. Meet up with other blogger friends to have fun and talk about life as a blogger!
9. Spend even more time with my boyfriend after being 3 years together <3
10. Go out and have lots of fun with my friends!
11. Make a lot of DIY! (so many ideas in my head right now)

Next year, this list will include 'Getting into a Fashion Week'. But we'll see what the future brings me.

So now...

Top 3 blog post of December

Style. That's what this blogger has! Not only fashion-wise, but man... can she draw or what?! I wouldn't mind if she'd show her outfits by drawing herself in them. And I absolutely want to get my hands on her book 'Serial Shoppeuse'. This post is a recap of her life in 2011: her gorgeous outfits, meeting Theo and Adam from Hurts and the signing of her own book! I wouldn't mind living her life, in the beautiful city of love: Paris! This blog is definitely one to look out for! It's much more different than the other ones. Not only because of her impeccable manga drawing, but also because she writes much more than what she's wearing in the post. I'm not really sure what her real name is though... Is it Tokyobanhbao? That would be so cool! Now, what you guys have to do is read my whole post and then hurry up, click on her website and enjoy!

And yes... another recap of 2011. But what the heck?! Can you blame me? Denni's so gorgeous in all of these pictures! I just couldn't leave her out. I saw this post and I was literally with my mouth open (wow, that sounds so gross). That's when I realised that girl is not far from perfect. Okay, she has a bit more modelling talent than other bloggers and she's friends with Anna Dello Russo and.... Okay, do you get what I mean? Her life is like every girl's dream. Her style is more than beautiful, edgy, classic... I don't really know what words to use for her. But I know that she's going to make it in the fashion industry. She has the connections (Anna, Carine Roitfeld) and she has already met Marc Jacobs (that's big, no?!) and she has a sense of style! Yep, she's the next big editor in big fashion magazine, for sure!

I could have chosen another 2011 recap, but that would bore you guys so much. So I've chosen something else, an outfit I like! This blog might be my sister's favorite one. And sure, I visit it also every once in a while. I don't blame my sister for loving this blog and the girl behind it. She's gorgeous and so is her closet. This outfit might be strange to most people but I like it a lot. Olivia chose the right colors to mix and match and gave this outfit the boost she needed while christmas shopping in the rain. I would describe it as cosy yet fashionable with a cute twist (the knee high socks and her lovely face). The hairdo suits her, even though she only tried it out and changed it back immediately. What do you guys think... Isn't she pretty?

P.S. Thanks to Panda_Diary for following!

Life as we know it

A couple of days ago, my boyfriend and I went to see 'Life as we know it' with Katherine Heigl and Josh yummy Duhamel. I thought I'd wear my new babies and a nice outfit to take pictures before the Atomium. The title of this post does not only refer to the movie we went to see, but also our lives. It's full of... snow! I can't remember how it was before (that's how long it has been going on here!!!).  That's it for today, see you in the next post!

Again on the Elle Belgique website! I get so excited every time I see my blog between all the other ones ^^ They also say at the end that there are some good and some bad things to share with us... The bad thing is that there won't be a list with what Belgian bloggers are doing before the new year en the good thing is that fashion bloggers will take over Elle Belgique fashion special in Mars! Sounds exciting, doesn't it?

Annelies Timmermans

'Proud to be Belgian' is what most Belgian people say. Proud of what exactly? It can't be their government (because there isn't one). They should definitely be proud of their fashion. The world has heard of Dries Van Noten and Ann Demeulemeester already but there's so much more talent hidden in our tiny country. Take Annelies Timmermans for example! She designs gorgeous accessories such as bags and wallets and they're fabricated in Italy. Pretty combined with quality, that's something to be proud of! My 3 favorites are the 'Maru - Pon Pon - Anthracite'-bag, the 'Tara - Zeus - Carmin' and the 'Atla - Pon Pon' in beige. Take a look at the collection on her website or her facebook page!

Gadgets Anatomy

With every fashionista comes a gadget! In most cases it's a Blackberry or an iPhone, but we bloggers also carry our SLR with us. This post may not be that fashionwise as it should be, but I couldn't resist... this was way too cool not to share with my dear readers: you guys! I love these illustrations, they're kind of funny, don't you think? Trendland made my day again ^^
Jep, Trendland made my day again ^^
